I used most of the same books for the R.I.P. (Readers Imbibing Peril) and Frightful Fall challenges, as they both threw down the gauntlet to read as many horror, Gothic, mystery, supernatural or generally dark tales as we could throughout October. I finished the month with 11 dark novels read, plus a couple of short stories (these only qualify for R.I.P. - not Frightful Fall). Here's what I completed:Novels
The Bad Place by Dean KoontzThe Exorcist by William Peter Blatty
Crippen by John Boyne
Fossil Figures by Joyce Carol Oates
Canon Alberic's Scrapbook by M.R. James
This was a great challenge, and perfect for the autumn and Halloween, but I'm actually rather looking forward to giving horror a rest and reading something different in November. I'm sure I'll go back to it soon, though.

I'm looking forward to getting away from horrors also. You did great, I did 6.
